Turns out not only is dancing good for physical and mental health, dancing can reduce anxiety and help alleviate depression. Harvard Medical School’s Health newsletter recently reported that dancing has all the same benefits as other forms of cardio exercise including lowering blood pressure, building muscle and bone, increasing aerobic capacity, and improving the ratio of “good” to “bad” cholesterol. In addition it’s a mood elevator.
And that’s not all. Studies indicate that mastering dance movements can boost memory and increase problem-solving skills. Also dancing gives us a sense of social connection that helps reduce loneliness and isolation. Somewhere along the line, many of us lose that sense of fun that dancing evokes and we become less self-conscious and inhibited. Click HERE to read the full report from Harvard Health.
Today we picked Geri Halliwell dancing up a storm to the tune “It’s Raining Men”. There’s a lot of versions of this song. One of the best is the original one performed by the “Weather Girls” who made the song famous. Click HERE to check out the Weather Girls.
So every week YourCanna-Club will host a new dance party and we want you to come. Our plan is to put together a “playlist” of all the great dance tunes so you could have your own ready-made soundtrack for a dance party. If you have any dancing music you want to recommend email it to info@yourcanna-club.com and we’ll get it on the list. So now it’s time to get it going with Geri but we strongly advise not to try any of her moves – you could end up in the hospital.
