Lots of us cannabis growers have had horrible experiences when the weather gets hot and humid. It’s hard to explain to non-growers what a horrendous experience it is to watch your plants, that are almost ready for harvest, stop growing or even die as they get attacked by bugs and mold and end up looking like the plant you see here in the picture. We had a very hot summer this year and the impact on our plants, even though we have an indoor grow operation, were bad. To get rid of the bugs another grower told us to buy a bunch of lady bugs. We ordered 200 but when the package arrived it had 400 lady bugs. The whole thing was hysterical. We managed to get them situated all over the plants. Immediately they started crawling around eating the bugs that were so small you can hardly see them. Two to three weeks later the bugs were gone although we should confess the temperature did drop.

While cannabis is often referred to as a “weed” it is very sensitive to the environment the plants are growing in. Changes in temperature, humidity, watering, and ventilation can all wreak havoc on your plants. Heat in particular is heavy stress for a cannabis plant and that goes for plants grown inside or outdoors.
