The cannabis world lost one of the greats this week – David Watson, (pictured here with his wife Diane),known worldwide as “Sam The Skunkman”, was one of the most influential figures in the history of cannabis. His work not only transformed the industry but helped shape the modern cannabis strains we know today. Recognized for being one of the pioneers in the development of cannabis hybrids, his legacy lives on in every Skunk harvest and the evolution of marijuana around the world.
His innovative approach and obsession with improving the quality of cannabis led him to start working with different cannabis varieties, often crossing strains with the intention of producing more resistant plants, with better yields and a superior cannabinoid profile. It was during these years that he began to experiment with what would later become his legacy: Skunk.
