Well it’s complicated. But it looks like the move to grow hemp instead of cannabis because it’s legal and cheaper, and then spray with with a chemical from a lab that will get people high is one of the big reasons. Today one of our members sent us this article from 2021 published in a prominent chemistry and engineering journal and it explains a lot. Written by Britt E. Erickson and published in the Chemical and Engineering News Journal, we learn that even four years ago scientists were raising the alarm. Bret Erickson writes: “Chemists are alarmed about impurities formed during the synthesis of the cannabinoid ∆8-tetrahydrocannabinol (delta-8-THC), sold in gummies, vape products, and other items. Little is known about the health effects of these impurities, and chemists have not identified all of them.” Click HERE to read the story. The picture is of a giant hemp farm that are popping up everywhere. Problem is hemp has no natural THC and has to be sprayed with something synthetic that comes from a laboratory. And according to users, farmers and scientists, it’s doesn’t work but might also be harmful.
