Just this morning we learned about this Netflix documentary about Juan Gabriel who is considered one of the best Mexican composers and singers of all time. We listened to a couple of songs and found them uplifting.
Juan has sold over 100 million records worldwide and composed over 2000 songs over his career. In 2023, he ranked number 172 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 200 greatest singers of all time and the Library of Congress has preserved several of his songs in the United State National Recording Registry.
Juan Gabriel was 66-years-old when he died of a heart attack. The good news is that for over four decades, Juan Gabriel was busy recording almost everything he did and that footage is center stage in a new Netflix documentary about Juan’s life.
