Ozzy Osbourne, front man for the English heavy metal band Black Sabbath, just performed his last show. He’s beloved by many weed fans for his song “Sweet Leaf” along with his wild, crazy spirit.
We found this post on the Save Rock & Metal Facebook page. Not sure who the author is but if it’s you, let us know if know.
Last night I saw something end that I thought would never end. I saw Ozzy, sitting like a tired king but still in love, saying goodbye to his story.
And there we were, all together, saying goodbye with him.
“Back to the Beginning” wasn’t just a concert.
It was a journey, a journey into everything we were when those notes changed us forever.
Those guitars, those drums, that voice… they were rough caresses, electric hugs.
A goodbye, yes. But said with the same sweetness with which one says: I will love you forever.
When they played “Paranoid”, all the people had tears in their eyes.
It wasn’t just a song.
It was a memory, a promise, a love that doesn’t want to die.
Ozzy said “I fucking love you” looking us in the eyes.
And in that moment I understood that rock can be very romantic.
Because it teaches you to stay, even when everything changes.
It teaches you that true love, like a good riff, never ends. It turns into an echo.
Thank you Sabbath!
For making me love every note as you love a person.
With loyalty.
With anger.
With all my soul.
“Back to the Beginning”… but the beginning, this time, is inside us.

“I cried so much last night watching him perform his last performance. Rock and metal have my heart in music… I can’t even explain just how much my rock/metal music helps me through things. I love all of my rockstars and I will never say goodbye to any of them. I will always be a rock girl. Rock on forever Ozzy.
Shot in the Dark
Here’s another great tune from Ozzy and his band – “Shot in the Dark.” It is the ninth and final track on his 1986 album The Ultimate Sin. A top-ten hit on mainstream rock radio, the song also became his first single to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Lyrics are below.
Lyrics to Shot in the Dark:
Out on the street,
I’m stalking the night
I can hear my heavy breathing
Paid for the kill but it doesn’t seem right
Something there I can believe in
Voices are calling from inside my head I can hear them, I can hear them Vanishing memories of things that were said They can’t try to hurt me now But a shot in the dark, one step away from you A shot in the dark, always creeping up on you Taught by the powers that preach over me I can hear their empty reason I wouldn’t listen I learnt how to fight I opened up my mind to treason But just like the wounded and when it’s too late They’ll remember they’ll surrender Never a care for the people who hate Underestimate me now But a shot in the dark one step away from you A shot in the dark not a thing that you can do A shot in the dark always creeping up on you But just like the wounded and when it’s too late They’ll remember they’ll surrender Never a care for the people who hate Underestimate me now But a shot in the dark one step away from you A shot in the dark not a thing that you can do A shot in the dark always creeping up on you, alright Just a shot in the dark Just a shot in the dark Just a shot in the dark Just a shot in the dark
