Plus no DJ’s, no ads, just music. This O.V. Wright song is the cover version of Albert King’s 1969 hit, Drowning On Dry Land. It was released on the Back Beat label in 1972 and recorded at Royal Studio musicians who were dominating the soul charts at Hi Records at the time with Al Green and others. Wright’s version combines the sounds of both blues and soul.
